Mark Cushman, PCCR researcher, named Distinguished Professor by Purdue Board of Trustees.
Cushman is an internationally recognized scholar in the design and synthesis of antibacterial, anticancer and antiviral agents. With more than 265 publications, 15 patents and two licensed inventions, Cushman has received numerous honors, including the Purdue Cancer Research Award in 2004, Senior Fulbright Award for 1983-84, National Institutes of Health Postdoctoral Fellowship for 1973-75 and National Defense Education Act Title IV Fellowship for 1969-73.
He earned his doctor of pharmacy degree and doctoral degree in pharmaceutical chemistry from the University of California, San Francisco. He joined Purdue in 1975.
